Fagor Chef first use
To open the Fagor Chef pressure cooker, pull the pressure lock towards the end of the handle and slide the lid handle to the right (counterclockwise) holding the base handle with your left hand, and lifting the lid. Before using the Fagor Chef Pressure Cooker for the first time, wash all the parts and components with warm water and mild dishwashing soap. Rinse well and towel dry. The Fagor Chef pressure cooker pot is dishwasher safe. Fagor recommends hand washing the pressure cooker lid and all its components. Always remove the timer when washing the lid. Always remove the gasket when washing the lid. Wash the Fagor Chef gasket with warm, soapy water; rinse well and towel dry. Cover the gasket with a thin coat of cooking oil (e.g., vegetable, olive, canola, etc.). Follow this procedure every time you wash the pressure cooker in order to extend the life of the gasket and to facilitate locking the lid in place.
